a collection of pics and stories

the subject matter behind the record is from a dark place. the three of us had to grind it out to get this record done. the biggest conversation we keep having is "how much of it can we tell?"

we want to capture ourselves from where we are.

late nights in Orlando. early mornings at church. all the shit in between.

THE BEACH BOYS (PAL 2000) Ben (1) - dad turned his car on in his garage and went to sleep. remember being 11 and wanting to knock on his door and tell him how great I thought his dad was. Corey - very cool. dad ran a construction company. when things fell apart in 2004-2008 i think it was tough, but that kid carried it. Ben (2) - called a kid the n-word once. had to run through the graveyard outside the gym to not get whooped. invited me over shortly after. stripped to his briefs and started humping the floor. never hung out again.  TJ - best player. wanted to be his friend so bad, but it was really hard. the gulf between our world's was huge. Logan - best friend growing up. one of the best men i know. skipped wedding bc of my depression. his wife is pregnant.

YOU Turn 27 and you realize what a waste it is to be drunk.

threw up all over myself the night this picture was taken.

was sailing with Logan and he kept saying "I'm dying Nathan. I'm dying." and I kept saying "we're all dying Logan." and we just said it over and over again throughout the weekend, like we were unlocking the universe.

and i thought back to the fall of last year and how I stared in the mirror at 2am and I thought "God isn't real." and I felt the floor open up from underneath me and felt like all of the universe was descending.

every pretty and nice part of me seemed to vanish. I was so depressed I stopped working. I listened to the radio and played video games. had trouble leaving the house. thought about dying all the time. emptiness got an appetite.

glory to God. made it through those nights. i'll talk about it.

we have *the best* friends.

it's strange getting old in the church.

you end up getting all these leadership positions.

and all the people you looked up to struggle with the same shit and worse.

and they appreciate that you say bad words and say you have character.

strange people say they have dreams where you heal them

and you're like, fuck man

you make me feel worse off then when I started.

you have big dreams to go on tour and change the world and then you get a career.

some friends move and never come back.

went out to dinner with a camp speaker. had finished leading worship and we are all at waffle house. we notice he doesn't have his wedding ring on. slipped it in his pocket as we walked in.
